Indoor Play
Our space is designed to be warm and inviting, just like a home should be. The sunroom has been transformed into our indoor play area, where we engage in dramatic play, enjoy meal times, create crafts, and more. We cherish the abundance of natural light that pours into the space and the fresh air that flows in through the windows, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
Our environment is always evolving. I actively seek out new play pieces and frequently rearrange existing ones to keep the space fresh and engaging for the children. This ensures that both our indoor and outdoor areas continue to spark curiosity and exploration.
The indoor play area is ideally positioned so that children can view our garden and chickens throughout the day, fostering a connection to nature and encouraging a sense of wonder. Even when we're all inside, we still feel like we're outside.
Outdoor Play
Our outdoor play space, much like our indoor area, is constantly evolving to provide new experiences. At the heart of our outdoor environment is a small garden where children are encouraged to participate in every stage of growth. They can select which seeds to plant and engage in caring for them, fostering curiosity and a hands-on understanding of gardening. We explore topics like seasonal plants, companion planting, and the importance of pollinators, helping children appreciate the intricate connections in nature.
We also take great pride in our chickens, who offer invaluable lessons to our little ones. Each morning, the chickens are released from their coop to roam freely in their run, allowing children to observe them closely. Kids help gather food scraps for our flock, learning how these items, often overlooked, contribute to the chickens' health and egg production. Watching the chickens roam provides a relaxing way for children to unwind and connect with nature.
Our entire play area is enclosed by a privacy fence, ensuring a safe and controlled environment with plenty of room to run and play. Smaller, organized play spaces are strategically placed throughout the yard, designed to encourage exploration and stimulate the senses. We make the most of the natural features in our environment, turning every inch of the play space into an opportunity for discovery.
